Rayburn Seeley

November 28, 1925 — October 10, 2011

Rayburn "Ray" Edward Seeley, age 85, passed away on Monday October 10, 2011 at Smoky Mountain Health & Rehabilitation Center. A native of Haywood County, he was the son of the late George Mitchell and Beulah Naomi Holtzclaw Seeley. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Nora Deaver Seeley, who died in 1999. He was a United States Navy veteran. Ray retired from the US Postal Service with 38 years of service and was a member of Mt. Zion Baptist Church. He is survived by two sons, Zane R. Seeley of Asheville and Daunne D. Seeley of Canton; three grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 12:00 noon on Saturday, October 22, 2011 at Mt. Zion Baptist Church with the Reverend Dr. Perry Brindley officiating. Entombment will follow at The Horizon at Crawford/Ray Memorial Gardens with military rites. The family will receive friends from 10:30 until 12:00 p.m. prior to the service. Wells Funeral Home of Canton is in charge of the arrangements.
