Ray Thomas

Ray Dewey Thomas, 79, formerly of Asheville went to his next life on Monday, March 2, 2015.
Ray was a devoted and loving husband of 59 years and a loving father, teaching all of his children the value of hard work. He was a defender and protector of everyone in his life. Ray worked 35 years for Felkel Oil Company and spent many hard, cold nights making sure a lot of people were warm. He will be missed.
He was preceded in death by his parents John W. Thomas and Bessie Lee McDevit Thomas; son John W. Thomas; brothers Garvis, Robert, Jim and Tommy Thomas and sisters, Nea Rice, Lilly Payne and Louise Baldwin.
He is survived by his wife Margaret Thomas; sons, Rick Thomas and Bobby Thomas of Marion, Ray Thomas of Charleston SC; daughter Ann Landers of Belmont NC; brother, Gene Thomas of Greenville TN; sister Evelyn Hall of Durham NC; family friend, James Tomkins of Marion and 3 grandchildren, Josh Thomas of Asheville, Leslie Landers of Marion NC and Michael Landers, II of Belmont NC and many nieces and nephews.

A Memorial service will be held at 2:00PM on Saturday, March 14th in the Chapel of Faith, Moore Funeral Home at Forest Lawn, Candler.
