Randy Davis

"1961 – 2016" Candler – Randy William Davis, 55, passed away on Tuesday, November 22, 2016 at his residence. A native of Haywood County, he was a son of Wanda Taylor Davis and the late Jackie Lee Davis. Randy retired as sergeant from the Asheville Police Department and formerly worked with the Haywood County Sheriff's department and criminal justice. He was known for his deep love for his family, sense of humor, and quick wit. In addition to his mother, he is survived by two daughters, Amanda Davis of Candler and Ashley Davis of Greenville, South Carolina; one son, Daniel Davis of Swannanoa; the mother of his children, Mary "Myrtle" Roper of Swannanoa; two brothers, Darrin Davis and wife, Stephanie, and Danny Payne and wife, Melanie, all of Canton; four grandchildren, Jaxon, Madox, Ryder, and Kai; and a host of special friends. A memorial service will be held at 4:00 p.m. on Sunday, November 27, 2016 at High Street Baptist Church with the Reverend Christopher Willett and Reverend Leon Stewart officiating. The family will receive friends from 2:00 until 4:00 p.m. prior to the service at the church. Memorials may be made to the Asheville FOP Benevolence Fund, P.O. Box 271, Asheville, NC 28802.
