Randy Barnett

Waynesville, James Randall Barnett, age 32, passed away on Sunday, October 18, 2015. A native and lifelong resident of Haywood County, he was preceded in death by his paternal grandmother, Ginger Faye Venters, maternal grandmother, Doris Jaynes and maternal great-grandmother, Freda Jaynes. Randy attended Tuscola High School where he played varsity soccer, and was a graduate of Central Haywood High School. He enjoyed the outdoors, especially time on the golf course and was a talented craftsman who found joy in making jewelry, most notably necklaces. Left to cherish his memory are his mother, Christy Jaynes Waddell and her husband, Brian of Waynesville; his father, James Barnett and his wife, Elaine of Charleston, SC; maternal grandfather, Edson Jaynes of Waynesville; three sisters, Raychel Szostak of Waynesville, Blair Cooke and Piper Gaster both of Charleston, SC; brother, Phillip Szostak of Waynesville; seven nieces, Jailynn, Ka'leah, Tessa, Peyton, Tenley, Alyssa and Audrey and two nephews, Trey and Dayvin. A funeral service will be held at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, October 22, 2015 in the Waynesville chapel of Wells Funeral Home with Reverend Kevin Valentine officiating. The family will receive friends from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home prior to the service.
