Ralph Putnam

Canton – Ralph Lester Putnam, age 80, passed away on Thursday, January 31, 2019 at his residence.

A native of Haywood County, he was the son of the late Ralph Edgar and Annie Irene Kell Putnam.  In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a grandson, Jessie James Putnam.  Ralph was a United States Army veteran.

He is survived by his daughter, Rhonda Putnam (Justen); two sons, Ronald Lee Putnam (Vicky); and Barry Shane Putnam all of Canton; four granddaughters, Karol Anne Putnam, Katie Gebhardt, of Black River Falls, Wisconsin; Kayla Putnam and Adaline Putnam; and one great-grandchild, Zebulan Abel Putnam.

A graveside service will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Sunday, February 3, 2019 at Morning Star Community Cemetery with the Reverend Jason Miller officiating. The family will receive friends from 1:30 p.m. until 2:30 p.m. prior to the service at Wells Funeral Home of Canton.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Morning Star Cemetery Maintenance Fund, P.O. Box 1746, Canton, NC 28716.
