Waynesville, Phillip Dean Leopard, age 80, passed away on Friday, January 14, 2022.
A native of Haywood County, he was a son of the late Frank and Ella Moore Leopard. Phillip was the husband of the late Judy Riggins Leopard, who died in 2015. He was also preceded in death by his granddaughter, Ashley Nicole Lance. Phillip was a loyal employee of Dayco Manufacturing, working in the shipping department for more than 30 years. He enjoyed golfing, working on lawnmowers, and loved spending time with his grandchildren.
Phillip is survived by his daughter, Laney Lance (Tim); his son, Dino Leopard (Tracy); a sister, Phillis "Sissy" Ratcliff (Mac); two brothers, Mark Leopard and Billy Joe Leopard (Pearl Mabry); and four grandchildren, Caleb, Noah, Rhonda, and Nolan.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M. on Monday, January 24, 2022 in the Waynesville Chapel of Wells Funeral Home with Reverend Kenneth Rhinehart officiating. Burial will follow at Ratcliff Cove Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 12:30 to 2:00 P.M. prior to the service at the funeral home. Serving as pallbearers will be Troy Leopard, Coleman Leopard, Lee Gibson, Chris Anders, Keith Messer, and Noah Lance, with Son of the Legion serving as honorary pallbearers.
