Peggy Sue Parkins, born September 8, 1938, passed away April 15, 2026, leaving behind a legacy of love, strength, and devotion to her family.
She was preceded in death by her beloved parents, Hobert and Ruby Green; her husband, James W. Parkins; her son, Gary Parkins; and her brother, Billy Green.
Peggy worked for many years at McDonalds and at Midway Truck Stop, where she was known for her strong work ethic and friendly spirit. After retirement, she enjoyed spending time on outings with her dear friends Viola, Jane, Geraldine, and Martha, creating many cherished memories.
Peggy is survived by her loving sons, Donald Parkins and Alan Parkins, who will continue to honor her memory. She was a proud and devoted grandmother to April Parkins (Anthony), Tiffany Parkins (Jamie), and Jennifer Parkins, each of whom brought her immense joy.
She is also survived by her sisters, Anna Jean Plemmons (Reid) and Kathy Green; and her brothers, Keith Green (Becky) and Kevin Green (Judy), all of whom will cherish her memory.
Her legacy lives on through her nine cherished great-grandchildren: Cade Parkins, Madison Brown, Jacob Brown, Avery Parkins, Kaynan Nix, Tyrese Parkins, Jonlyn Sutton-Parkins, Ford Parkins, and Bellamy Sutton-Parkins. She delighted in watching her family grow and took great pride in each of their lives.
She is also survived by her great-great-granddaughter, Kinley Collins, a special blessing in her later years.
Peggy had a deep love for her family and found great joy in being surrounded by them. She was an avid flower gardener, taking pride in her blooms and the beauty she cultivated, a reflection of the care she showed to everyone around her.
Peggy Sue Parkins will be remembered for her unwavering love for her family. Her resilience, and the warmth she brought into the lives of those who knew her. Her presence will be deeply missed, but her memory will forever remain in the hearts of her loved ones.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Panther Creek Baptist Church Cemetery fund in Peggy’s memory.
A Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, April 18, 2026, at 2:00 PM, at Panther Creek Baptist Church in Clyde, NC. Visitation with the family will be held one hour prior to the service. Burial will take place immediately following the service at Panther Creek Baptist Church Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers: Steve Parkins, Randy Parkins, Keith Green, Kevin Green, Cade Parkins, and Jacob Parkins; Honorary pallbearers: Avery Parkins and Trace Parkins.
