Maggie Valley

Maggie Valley, Peggy Jo Bryson Frazier stepped into Heaven on Saturday, April 11, 2020, to spend eternity with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.

A native of Jackson County, she was the daughter of the late Ransom Lee and Alice Crawford Bryson. In addition to her parents, she was proceeded in death by five sisters, and four brothers.  Peggy was employed by the Waynesville Country Club for 12 years, where she was famous for her clogging skills.  She then worked at Sears in the Waynesville Plaza for 12 years, until the store was permanently closed.

She was a member of Dellwood Baptist Church for the past 15 years. She enjoyed listening to the choir and the Dellwood Baptist Praise Team. She truly loved her church family.

Peggy is survived by her husband of 62 years, Joe Frazier. Their love was a true example of unselfishness and sacrifice. Peggy is also survived by two daughters, Cindy Carpenter and her husband Neil Carpenter of Maggie Valley and Lisa Kirkman and her husband Kent Kirkman of Winston Salem; a son, Steve Frazier and his wife Cynthia Frazier of Asheville; a sister, Mary Alice Kilburg of Ohio. She was blessed with seven grandchildren and four great-grandchildren, which she loved dearly, and enjoyed showering with ʺNana kissesʺ.

Peggy’s greatest pride and joy was her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. In her younger years, she enjoyed working in her flower garden. In later years, she spent her days doing puzzles on her iPad, and spending time with Joe and her large family.

Peggy’s family would like to send a special thank you to Maggie Valley Nursing and Rehabilitation Facility. We will never be able to say ʺthank youʺ enough for the incredible love you showed her and her entire family, and the exemplary care she received there.  We will be forever grateful.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Dellwood Baptist Church Youth Group Fund, 115 Hall Drive, Waynesville, NC 28785. If you would like to send flowers, please wait until the Celebration of Life that will be scheduled at a later date in the summer.

The care of Mrs. Frazier has been entrusted to Wells Funeral Homes
