Canton – Ped Richardson Fant Bean, 87, passed away on Tuesday, May 21, 2019 at Silver Bluff Nursing Home.
A native of Jackson, Mississippi, but having resided in Haywood County for the past four years, she was the daughter of the late Charles and Imogene Richardson Fant. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Stanwood Bean, who died in 2018 and a brother, Buddy Fant. Ped was a member of Grace Presbyterian Church in Byram, Mississippi and was the owner and operator of The Country House, a home décor store with a country flair located in Asheville. Ped’s life interests included homemaking, painting, gardening and writing.
She is survived by four daughters, Judie Smith and husband, Sylvester of Learned, Mississippi, Alanna Daniel and Jim Wojda of Cedar, Michigan, Jennifer Stuart and husband, Travis and Elizabeth Egley, all of Canton; two brothers, Arden Fant of Madison, Mississippi and Sam Fant of Clinton, Mississippi; seven grandchildren; and ten great-grandchildren.
A funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, May 24, 2019 at the Western Carolina State Veterans Cemetery Chapel in Black Mountain with the Reverend Roger Collins officiating.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Silver Bluff Nursing Home Activities Department, 100 Silver Bluff Drive, Canton, NC 28716.
