PEARL PLESS CATHEY GADDIS

Canton-Pearl Pless Cathey Gaddis, age 76, of Bear Hunter Drive, died Monday, December 09, 2002 at her residence.

A native of Haywood County, she was the daughter of the late Rex and Pearl Sharp Pless. She was also preceded in death by her first husband, William R. Cathey, who died in May, 1971 and her second husband, Charles Ray Gaddis, who died in October, 2002; a son, Billy Cathy; and two brothers, Fred and Harry Pless. She was a retired Dayco employee where she worked in the Belt Department. She was a member of Pisgah Freewill Baptist Church and loved gardening and flowers.

She is survived by two daughters, Linda Cathy of Washington, DC and Ann Barrier of Nebo, NC; a son, Ronnie Dean Cathy of Florida; a sister, Sally Grogan, of the Cruso Community; two Brothers, Homer Pless of the Cruso Community and Sam Pless of Marion, NC; and three grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, December 12, 2002 in the Waynesville chapel of Wells Funeral Home with Reverend Marty Connor officiating. Burial will follow in the New Cruso Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Tommy Barrier, Jack and Jeff Heatherly, Ray Bates, Dewayne Leatherwood, and Doug Crawford. The family will receive friends from 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday, December 11, 2002 at the funeral home and at other times, the family will be at the residence.
