Canton-Pauline Stamey Pressley-83 of Shady Drive, died Sunday, October 13, 2002 at her daughter's home.

She was a native of Clay County but had lived most of her life in Haywood County. She was a daughter of the late Loren and Gertrude Griffith Stamey and the wife of the late Joe B. Pressley who died in 1991. She was a homemaker and member of Beulah Baptist Church.

She is survived by one daughter, Jo Ann Pressley of Canton, one son, David Pressley of Canton, one sister, Katheryn Howard of Canton, two brothers, Glenn Stamey of Candler and Eugene Stamey of Canton, two grandsons, Randy and Brian Noland and two great-grandchildren, Luke and Brittany Noland.

Funeral services will be at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, October 16, 2002 at Beulah Baptist Church with Reverend Virgil Holloway officiating. Burial will follow at Bon-A-Venture Cemetery on Old Clyde Road. The family will receive friends from 7:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. Tuesday at Wells Funeral Homes of Canton. At other times, the family will be at the home of the daughter, Jo Ann Pressley, 100 Joe Pressley Road, Canton, NC 28716.
