Patricia Sisk Spinn McCracken

Patricia Sisk Spinn McCracken, 79, of Waynesville, North Carolina, peacefully passed into the arms of Jesus on Saturday, July 5, 2025.

Patricia was born October 24, 1945, in Buncombe County, North Carolina, to the late Lillian Pressley Sisk and Howard “Buck” Sisk. After the death of her mother, Patricia was raised by her loving grandparents, McKinley and Ruth Pressley, in the Stamey Cove Community. Patricia never met a stranger and was a caregiver by nature. The friends and family she cared for were too numerous to list. She was never happier than when she was caring for others. Her generous heart and spirit will be greatly missed by the many people who loved her.

Patricia was preceded in death by her Mother, Father, Grandparents, her two younger sisters, Lynda and Kathy, and beloved husband Gerald Boyd Spinn of Canton, North Carolina.

Left to cherish Patricia’s memory are her daughter, Sunday Spinn Austin, and her husband Jack, of Atlanta, Georgia; grandsons Jack Austin, Jr., also of Atlanta, Georgia, and Tom Austin of Chattanooga, Tennessee; niece Stacy Clampitt Henson and nephew Leslie Clampitt both of Haywood County, North Carolina. She is also survived by close and dear friends she considered family who were faithful to visit her after she became homebound in the past years.

A celebration of Patricia's life will be held at 3 pm, Saturday, July 26, 2025, at Piney Grove Methodist Church, 10 Piney Grove Rd, Waynesville, NC, with Pastor Vickie McFalls Wilson officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior. 

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly suggests memorial donations may be made to the National MS Society, Memorial Donations for Patricia McCracken.

The care of Mrs. McCracken is entrusted to Wells Funeral Home of Canton, North Carolina.
