Patricia Caldwell

Patricia Green Caldwell of Asheville, NC left this physical world peacefully in the early hours of December 8th, 2022. Born to Dewey Silas and Myrtle Green, on December 1, 1949, she was youngest of the ‘Green Girls’. Preceded in death by her parents and four of her older sisters: Barbara Ross, Gail Green, Norma Dale Green, and Ginger Reid. She is survived by her husband of 51 years, Jerry Caldwell, her two children, Jason and Kelly Caldwell, and her grand-daughter, Avery Caldwell: as well as her sister, Mary Jo Sharp.

Patricia was always an outgoing individual since her youth.  A lover of adventure, Patricia was an avid traveler with a constant desire to experience new places home and abroad. She traveled to numerous countries and cities on medical and mission trips, hiking tours, cooking trips, and just for the fun of it!

A caregiver by nature, Patricia pursued a career in nursing. As a Registered Nurse, she found her calling in the operating room at St. Joseph’s Hospital where she thrived. With a love of children and willingness to help people, she finished her nursing career at the Asheville Children’s Medical Center retiring in 2015.

Patricia strived to keep her independence throughout her illness, but stayed closer to home with her family, beloved books, antiques, and beautiful mountains she called home.

She was an unforgettable soul who left an impact on everyone she met through her positivity, support, and love.

Services will be held at Wells Funeral Homes of Canton, NC this Saturday, December 10th, 2022 at 3:00 p.m. with a reception to follow at the Funeral Home.  In lieu of flowers and to honor her work and travels, charitable donations can be given to Doctors Without Borders, P.O. The care of Mrs. Caldwell has been entrusted to Wells Funeral Homes of Canton.
