Canton – Pansy Evans Driggers, 89, passed away on Friday, May 3, 2019 at Silver Bluff Nursing Home.
A native of Clarendon County, South Carolina, she was a daughter of the late Wilmon Roosevelt and Bertha Caroline Welch Evans. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, George Wallace Driggers, who died in 1995; and two brothers, Dexter and Quillen Evans; and a granddaughter, Viki Jo Howle. Pansy retired as a secretary for Dr. Bill Owen and was a member of Spring Hill Baptist Church. Following retirement, she volunteered with Haywood Christian Ministries.
She is survived by four daughters, Frances Baxley (Joe) of Canton, Eleanor Brabham (Roger) of Meggett, South Carolina, Karen Miles (Alex) of Walhalla, South Carolina and Sandra Morris (Jim) of Murrells Inlet, South Carolina; five sisters, Iva Rose Tucker, Marvaline Sefakis, Glenda Morton, Susie Evans, and Dolly Hodge; five brothers, David, Pete, Dan, Buck and Donald Evans.; ten grandchildren; twenty-one great-grandchildren; and six great-great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, May 8, 2019 at Spring Hill Baptist Church with the Reverend Matt Rhea officiating. Burial will follow at Bethel Community Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday evening at Wells Funeral Home in Canton.
