Ora Stamey

Canton - Ora Marie Deitz Stamey, 99, passed away on Tuesday, June 5, 2018 at Silver Bluff Nursing Home.

A native of Jackson County, she was a daughter of the late Sterling and Lula Buchanan Deitz. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Dennis Stamey, who died in 1999; a brother, Coy Deitz; and four sisters, Susie Holland, Lillian Green, Opal Hubbard, and Zenobia Deitz. Ora was a member of Spring Hill Baptist Church.

She is survived by one daughter and her husband, Janice and Bruce Coleman of Canton; two sisters, Lois Monteith and Katie Woods, both of Sylva; two grandchildren, Jessica Reagan (Dustin) and Travis Reagan (Della); one great-grandson, Ayden Buckner.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, June 8, 2018 at Spring Hill Baptist Church with the Reverend Matt Rhea and Reverend Eddie Deitz officiating. Burial will follow at Longs Community Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. Thursday evening at Wells Funeral Home of Canton.
