Ora Henson

Canton-Ora Anna Henson, age 93, of the Cruso community, died Friday, August 20, 2004 at Haywood Regional Medical Center. She was a native of Macon County and had lived most of her life in Haywood County. She was a daughter of the late Samuel and Nannie Sellers Green and the wife of the late John B. Henson who died in 1979. She was also preceded in death by 8 brothers and sisters. She was a member of Pisgah Free Will Baptist Church. She is survived by one foster son, Bill Leatherwood and his wife Shirley of Canton, one sister, Kate Gibson of Franklin, 7 grandchildren, Dewayne, John, Scott, Kevin and Michael Leatherwood, Elaine Sellers and Martha Trantham and 12 great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, August 21, 2004 at the Canton Chapel of Wells Funeral Homes & Cremation Services with Reverend Jake Cagle officiating. Burial will follow at New Cruso Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 12:30 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. at the funeral home prior to the service.
