Canton – Nuala “Elly” Anderson, 70, passed away on Wednesday, November 7, 2018 at Memorial Campus of Mission Hospitals.
A native of Nassau County, New York, she was a daughter of the late Edward and Nuala O’Donnell Brodie. Elly spent most of her life in Suffolk County, New York. She was a member of Canton Central United Methodist Church and was the producer of the award winning “On the Horizon” radio show from 2006-2011. Elly was a racing enthusiast and loved to race her custom Camaro on the tracks of Long Island.
She is survived by her loving husband of 9 years, John Anderson; one step-daughter, Katelyn King of Lake Junaluska; three sons, Glenn Petero and wife, Heather, Garrey Petero and Brian Petero and wife, Anne, all of Atlanta, Georgia; three step-sons, Andrew Anderson of Canton, David Anderson and wife, Kaehyna, and Mark Anderson, all of Rutherfordton; one brother, Ed Brodie of Upstate New York; and four grandchildren, Seth, Willow, Brenden, and Michelle.
A celebration of life service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, November 17, 2018 at Canton Central United Methodist Church with the Reverend Paul Brown officiating. The family will receive friends following the service in the parlor.
The care of Mrs. Anderson has been entrusted to Cremation Care by Wells and an online memorial register is available at “Obituaries” at www.cremationcarebywells.com.
