Norman Murphy

June 9, 1927 — November 3, 2007

Waynesville-Norman Karl Murphy, age 80, of 170 Biodome Drive, died on Saturday, November 3, 2007 at his residence. A native of Carbon County, PA, he was the son of late Adam and Hazel Miller Murphy. He was a US Navy veteran of World War II and a self-employed mason. He was a retired fire warden with 42 years from the State of Pennsylvania and a member of the Lutheran church. He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Elizabeth Murphy; two daughters, Norma Jean Jones and her husband, Richard, of Ofallen, IL and Robin Rand Hittinger and her husband, David, of Ladson, SC; one son, Glenn Karl Murphy and his wife, Lydia, of Waynesville; two sisters, Alverna Cloud and Eleanor Funk, both of Orlando, FL; one brother, Adam Murphy, Jr. and his wife, Margaret, of Allentown, PA; seven grandchildren; and four great grandchildren. No services are planned.
