Ned Burnette

Canton – Ned Burnette, 81, passed away on Thursday, December 12, 2019 at Silver Bluff Nursing Home.

Ned was a native and lifelong resident of Haywood County and a son of the late Ralph E. and Eula Sharp Burnette.  In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Ruth Harkins; and two brothers, Jaybird and Jack Burnette.  Ned was a longtime member of Pisgah Free Will Baptist Church and during his years of membership his attendance record included 38 years of perfect attendance for Sunday services.

He is survived by one sister, Carrie Frizzell of Canton; two brothers, Guy and Jim Burnette, both of Charlotte; and numerous nieces and nephews.

A graveside service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, December 15, 2019 at New Cruso Cemetery with Pastor Jack Ward and Pastor Jake Cagle officiating.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Pisgah Free Will Baptist Church Building Fund, 110 Harley Creek Road, Canton, NC  28716.
