Nathaniel Lewis

Candler, Nathaniel Hugh Lewis, age 19, passed away on Saturday, June 28, 2014. A native of Waynesville, he was employed as an assistant electrician for M.B. Haynes Corporation. Nate had a passion for motorcycles and anything fast. He competed on track days in Alabama and had aspirations of racing professionally. Nate was a beloved father, son, grandson and friend. He enjoyed traveling, hiking, and seeing new places. Nate is survived by his son, Carson Lewis; father, Michael Hugh Lewis and stepmother, Jennifer, of Candler; mother, Kathy Hensley, and stepfather, Mike of Mills River; maternal grandmother, Louise Hannah, of Waynesville and paternal grandfather, Hugh Lewis, Sr., of Waynesville; half sister, Laney Paige Hensley, of Mills River; half brother, Nicholas Hugh Lewis, of Candler; half sister, Kye Johnson, of Germany; and his girlfriend, Harmony Connor. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, July 3, 2014 in the Waynesville Chapel of Wells Funeral Home with Reverend Phillip Wyatt and Reverend Steve Dalton officiating. Burial will follow at Garrett-Hillcrest Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday, July 2, 2014 at the funeral home.
