Obituary

Natalie Ann Vaughan, 93, of Waynesville, passed away peacefully at Skyland Terrace on Monday, October 19, 2026.

Natalie was born on November 23, 1932, in Melrose, Massachusetts, to the late Henry and Elsie (Verry) Wadland. She graduated from Melrose High School and went on to attend Boston College, where she pursued her love of art.

A gifted watercolor artist and magazine illustrator, Natalie possessed a creative spirit and a wonderful appreciation for the beauty around her. She enjoyed traveling and cherished the memories made on family cruises. In 1995, Natalie made her home in Waynesville, where she lived the remainder of her life.

Above all, Natalie treasured her family, especially her beloved children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Her faith was equally important, and she held a special place in her heart for her church and church family. Natalie will be lovingly remembered for her artistic talents, her devotion to those she loved, and the beautiful memories she leaves behind.

A memorial service will be held at Encouraging Word Baptist Church, on Saturday, November 7, 2026, at 3:00 PM. Visitation with the family will be held one hour prior to the service. A private family inurnment will take place in Blue Ridge, Georgia, at a later date.

The care of Ms. Vaughan has been entrusted to Wells Funeral Home of Waynesville.
