Nancy King

Canton –  Nancy Mingos King, 74, passed away on Wednesday, June 29, 2022 at Care Partners Hospice Solace Center (John F. Keever).

Nancy was a native of Pennsylvania and a daughter of the late George James and Juanita Foster Mingos.  Because of her mother’s death at the age of one, James and Mae Mingos raised her.   In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two siblings, Marion Luckey and Robert Mingos.  Nancy was a member of Morning Star United Methodist Church and loved making greeting cards to send to family and friends.

She is survived by her husband of 49 years, Arnold King; six sisters, Ellen Maryott, Esther Terwilleger, Hila Grinnell, Betty Ferguson, Julia Palmer, and Peggy Wheeler; and four brothers, Frank and Leslie Mingos, George Mingos and Jerry Mingos.

A funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, July 5, 2022, in the Canton Chapel of Wells Funeral Home with the Reverend Brandon Lazarus and Reverend Doug Love officiating.  Burial will follow at Morning Star Community Cemetery.  The family will receive friends from 12:30 until 1:45 p.m. prior to the service at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Morningstar United Methodist Church, 2535 Dutch Cove Road, Canton, NC 28716.

The care of Mrs. King has been entrusted to Wells Funeral Homes of Canton.
