Nancy Dover Haney

Canton, Nancy Jo Dover Haney, age 84, passed away on Tuesday, September 19, 2023, at Memorial Mission Hospital.

A native of Buncombe County, she was the daughter of the late Charles Burman and Evelyn Louise Edmonds Dover.  In addition to her parents, Nancy was preceded in death by one daughter, Cheri Ann Haney Camerlingo, and a sister, Brenda Sue Dover.

A founding member of Rescue Baptist Church, Nancy was a prayer warrior for her family, friends, and community.  In her free time, Nancy enjoyed traveling with her beloved husband, driving on old roads, and looking for new adventures.  Her greatest treasure in life was her family and extended church family.  She loved any opportunity to provide a delicious meal and share stories around the table.

Nancy is survived by her husband of 66 years, Joe Bob Haney and beloved daughter, Rebecca “Becca” Haney Ostman; sister-in-law, Katherine Elaine Passmore; granddaughter, Maria Christina Camerlingo and great-granddaughter, Sophia Cheri Butler.   

Memorial services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, September 30, 2023, in the Chapel of Wells Funeral Home of Canton.  The family will receive friends from 1:00 p.m. until 1:45 p.m. prior at the funeral home.  A private family committal will be held at New Bon-A-Venture Cemetery at a later date.
