Nancy Freeman

Nancy Caroline Brown Freeman, 86, of Canton passed away on Thursday, February 10, 2022, surrounded by family.  A native of Haywood County, she was the daughter of the late William Roy Brown, Sr. and Leota McCleane Brown.  In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 66 years, Joseph Loly Freeman, Jr. on February 8, 2021, and brother, Bill Brown.

Nancy loved camping in Tennessee and visits to the beach. Deep Creek was another of her favorite spots. She enjoyed square dancing on her favorite “stomping grounds”.  She was a member of Plains United Methodist Church for over fifty years.

She is survived by a daughter, Karen Bowman and her husband, Pat of Canton; son, Joseph Michel Freeman of Truckee, CA and one grandson, Hunter Bowman.

A graveside service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, February 16, 2022, at Plains United Methodist Church Cemetery.  Reverend Zach Christy and Reverend David Green will officiate.

The care of Mrs. Freeman has been entrusted to Wells Funeral Homes of Canton.
