Nancy Fish

Clyde, Nancy Elizabeth Price Fish, age 66, went home to be with the Lord and surrounded by her family on Thursday, February 19, 2009 at Memorial Mission Hospital. A native of Haywood County, she was a daughter of the late James and Rebecca Jane Messer Price. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Ernest Messer, and a sister, Kate Eckenrod. Nancy was a member of Emmanuel Baptist Church and was a very loving, doting wife, mother and grandmother who loved to garden, cook and can her vegetables. She especially loved spending time with her grandchildren. Nancy loved the Lord and was a very devoted Christian. She is survived by her husband of 40 years, Leonard Fish; two daughters, Andrea J. Fish of Atlanta, GA and Melinda F. Davis and her husband, Raife, of Clyde; a half-sister, May Burr Ward of Maggie Valley; a brother, David Price and his wife, Betty, of Clyde; and three grandchildren, Lidia, Macey, and Locke Davis. Funeral services will be held at 3:00 p.m. Saturday, February 21, 2009 at Emmanuel Baptist Church with Reverend Gary Putnam officiating. Burial will follow at Garrett-Hillcrest Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. Friday evening at Wells Funeral Home in Waynesville. Memorials may be made to Emmanuel Baptist Church, 107 Weaver Drive, Clyde, NC 28721.
