Nancy Smith Dowler, 63, of Forest City went to be with the Lord, Thursday morning, July 8, 2021, at the Elizabeth House following a period of declining health. Nancy was a native of Henderson County and spent most of her life there. She was preceded in death by her daddy, Forrest King; step- father, Claude “Spider” Smith; husband, Tome Dowler, who passed away in 2005; and a grandson, David Horace Tesnear, Jr.
Before her retirement, Nancy wore many hats and most recently was in store management with Dollar General. She dearly loved her family and “grandbabies”. Nancy enjoyed riding her Harley motorcycle and spending time in her garden.
She is survived by her mother, Vera Holbert King of Edneyville; sons, Jay Tesnear of Hendersonville, Robby Dardas and his wife, Ashley of Forest City and David Tesnear of Greenville, SC; sister, Bobbi Godman and her husband, Ronnie of Hendersonville; 18 grandchildren; 10 great grandchildren; nephew, Brandon Godman and his wife, Jordan and great niece, Lola Mae.
A celebration of life will be held on her birthday, Saturday, July 17, 2021 at 11:00 a.m. at Victory Tabernacle, 316 King Street, East Flat Rock.
