Nancy Deaver

Nancy Mae Poston Deaver, age 81, of the Cruso Community, passed away peacefully into her heavenly Father's arms at her home on Sunday, March 24, 2013 after a long courageous battle with cancer. She was a native of Haywood County and a daughter of the late Bill and Edna Pless Poston. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a son, Timothy Theodore Deaver and baby Dovie Deanna Deaver; three brothers; and one sister, Ruth Ethel Farmer. Nancy was a retired nurse of the VA Medical Hospital and a member of East Fork Baptist Church. She is survived by her husband of 63 years, Russell Deaver; five sons, Ronald Russell Deaver (Bhana), Harold Hugh Deaver (Carolyn), Basil Byrd Deaver, Samuel Shaphan Deaver (Angie), and Victor Vaughn (Amy); one daughter, Esther Elena White (Craig); and a daughter-in-law, Teresa Cole; 18 grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren, who were by far the joy of her life; one sister, Polly Matthews; and one brother, Hugh Poston (Birdie). A memorial service, to celebrate her life, was held at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, March 26, 2013 at East Fork Baptist Church with the Reverend Wayne Willett officiating.
