Nancy Cagle

Canton – Nancy Trull Cagle, 77, passed away on Saturday, December 31, 2022 at CarePartners Hospice Solace Center in Asheville.

Nancy was a native and lifelong resident of Haywood County and a daughter of the late Clarence Mingus and Thelma Lee Trull.  In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Gudger Larkin Cagle, Jr., who died on December 14, 2022; three sons, Stephen, Stanley, and Stuart Cagle; one granddaughter, Emily Shawn Payne.  She was a member Bethel Baptist Church.

She is survived by a daughter, Shannon Cagle Stokely (Fred); one sister, Mary Ann Smith of Wilmington; one brother, Bennie Trull of Canton; and four grandchildren, Hayden, Lily, and Olivia Payne, and Abigail Stokely.

Funeral services will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Friday, January 6, 2023 in the Canton Chapel of Wells Funeral Home with the Reverend Dr. Roy Kilby and Pastor Jeremy Cagle officiating.  Burial will follow at New Cruso Cemetery.  The family will receive friends from 1:00 until 2:45 p.m. prior to the service at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Muscular Dystrophy Association, 100 Executive Center drive, Asheville, NC  28801.

The care of Mrs. Cagle has been entrusted to Wells Funeral Homes of Canton.
