Myrtle Price Duckett died Monday, January 31, 2022, following a period of declining health. A native of Madison County, she had lived in East Asheville for most of her life.  She was the daughter of the late David Price and Bertie Hipps Mull.  In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her former husband, Thomas Duckett; son, Bill Duckett; brother, Bill Price and his wife, Lucille.

Myrtle retired from Taylor Instruments and Welch Allyn after more than thirty-nine years of service. Known as Miss Myrtle, she would always have something to eat or drink for anyone coming by or at the coffee shop where, most of the time, she had her morning coffee.  She was always willing to take care of someone that needed breakfast or a hot cup of coffee. Miss Myrtle was always there, she was the one to take care of that or lend a helping hand.

She is survived by her grandson, Robert Duckett of Raleigh; great-grandson, Madison Duckett of Asheville; nieces, Shirley Cagle, Judy Fleming and Joyce Allison and a nephew, Phil Henry.

A graveside service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, February 2, 2022, at Forest Lawn Memorial Park with Reverend Jimmy Moore officiating.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Asheville Humane Society, 14 Forever Friend Lane, Asheville, NC 28806.

The care of Mrs. Duckett has been entrusted to Wells Funeral Home of Candler.
