Myrtle Cothern

Waynesville- Doris Wright Cothern, age 83, passed away on Tuesday, September 13, 2005 at Haywood Regional Medical Center. She is a native of Topton, North Carolina but had lived most of her life in Haywood County. She was a daughter of the late Claude and Harriett Holloway Wright. She was preceded in death by two sisters, Leora Holder and Mildred Mason and one brother Bobby Wright. Mrs. Cothern was a member of Allens Creek Baptist Church. She is survived by her husband, Floyd G. Cothern; one daughter, Cheryl Ward and her husband, Keith, of Sylva; two sons, Douglas Cothern and his wife, Patty, of Waynesville and Don Cothern of Bryson City; one brother, Wendell Wright of Waynesville; three grandchildren, Todd Cothern, Ric and Heather Ward; and two great-grandchildren, Kayla and Coleman Cothern. Graveside services will be held on Wednesday, September 14, 2005 at 4:00 p.m. at Garrett-Hillcrest Memorial Park with her nephew, Reverend Ricky Mason officiating.
