Canton – Mildred Schaut Pharr, 95, passed away on Sunday, November 18, 2018 at Silver Bluff Nursing Home.
A native of Lauderdale County, Alabama, she was a daughter of the late Joseph Benedict and Mary Anna Donaver Schaut. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Ralph Pharr, who died in 2001 and a granddaughter, Christie Cooke Marcus. She was a member of the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Canton. Mildred loved gardening, canning and quilting. She volunteered with Haywood Christian Ministry for over 25 years.
She is survived by three daughters, Sandra Taylor, of South Carolina, Sheila Cooke (Gary) and Cindy Wright, all of Waynesville; one son, David Pharr (Judith), of Canton; one sister, Delores Danley of Atlanta, Georgia; three grandchildren, Lisa, Jonathan and Josh; three great-grandchildren; and five great-great-grandchildren.
A graveside service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, November 21, 2018 at Locust Field Cemetery with Father Richard Sutter officiating. The family will receive friends from 10:00 until 10:45 a.m. prior to the service at Wells Funeral Home in Canton and following the service at her residence.
