Michael Roberts

Michael Alfred Roberts, 59, of Clyde, NC went to his heavenly home on April 8, 2023.

Mike’s greatest joy was his family. His father, Quentin Roberts preceded him in death.  He is survived by his mother, Barbara Roberts of Enka/Candler; two sons, Dylan Roberts and Aaron Roberts and his wife Rebecca, which he proudly called his greatest accomplishment and the lights of his life. He is also survived by his wife, Janet Grooms Roberts; her children, Taylor Willis McClure (RJ) and Tyson Willis. His “Littlest” love was his granddaughter, Hadley “Haddie McClure, she called him “Pop Pop”. Also left to cherish his memory are his brothers, Jeff Roberts (Kelly) of Gulf Shores, AL, Gary Roberts (Kit) of Enka/Candler and his grand dogs, Rudy and Si.

Mike attended Enka High School and Blue Ridge Community College. He was employed by Buncombe County Schools as a Transportation Supervisor. He cherished his co-workers and considered them friends.

Cooking for his family and friends was one of Mike’s greatest joys. He humbly did quiet acts of service for others and wanted no recognition for himself.  He loved politics and bourbon and was well versed in both.

A memorial service will be held 3:00 p.m. on Wednesday, April 12, 2023, in the Canton chapel of Wells Funeral Home with Reverend Heath Davis officiating.  The family will receive friends at the funeral home two hours prior to the service, beginning at 1:00 p.m.

The care of Mr. Roberts has been entrusted to Wells Funeral Homes Canton.
