Michael Goode

Canton – Michael Kelly “Mike” Goode, 79, passed away on Thursday, August 26, 2021 at his home.

Mike was a native of Guilford County and a son of the late Hal and Margaret Whitner Goode.  He was a 1964 graduate of the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and was a member of the Sigma Phi Epsilon Fraternity.  Mike was a United States Army Reserve veteran.

He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Margaret Hardy Goode; three sons, Jeffery Goode (Pamela), Vance Goode (Natalie), all of Orlando, Florida, and Darren Goode (Walky) of Mountain View, California; and four grandchildren, Aaron, Christopher, Calvin, and Thomas.

In keeping with Mike’s wishes, no services are planned at this time.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Haywood County Sheriff’s Department, 1620 Brown Avenue, Waynesville, NC  28786.
