M. Darrell Nichols

Waynesville, M. Darrell Nichols, age 65, passed away on Friday, March 4, 2022.

A native of Haywood County, he was a son of the late Louie Marvin and Edith Rhinehart Nichols.  In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Janet Galloway Nichols, who died in 2021; two sisters, Cheryl Nichols Rhinehart and Karen Sutton; and a brother, William "Billy" Nichols.  Darrell was of the Baptist faith.  He was employed with Dayco Corporation and loved being outdoors, fishing and digging ginseng.

Darrell is survived by two sons, Jacob Nichols, and his wife, Emily and Jovi Nichols, and his wife, Kerrington; three grandchildren, Samantha Rose Nichols, Braylin and Keaton Nichols; in-laws, Roy and Sally Galloway; sister-in-law, Tammy Inman, and her husband, Chris; brothers-in-law, Randy and Scott Galloway; and several nieces, nephews and friends.

A graveside service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, March 10, 2022, at Dellwood Cemetery with Reverend Ricky Mehaffey officiating.

The care of Mr. Nichols has been entrusted to Wells Funeral Home of Waynesville.
