Maxine Mcclure

Waynesville, Maxine Conner McClure, age 71, passed away on Wednesday, November 5, 2014 at Haywood Regional Medical Center. A native of Haywood County, she was the daughter of the late Brownlow and Pearl Norris Conner. Maxine enjoyed working in her garden and working with arts and crafts. She also loved to read and had a special place in her heart for her cats. Maxine attended Antioch Baptist Church. She is survived by her son, Allan Zane McClure of Sylva; six sisters, Ora Lee Rogers and her husband, Joseph R., and Lucille Noland and her husband, Bud, all of Waynesville, Barbara McElrath and her husband, Junior, of Canton, Sheila Whitehouse and her husband, Jimmy, of Shelby, Carolyn Clark and her husband, Weldon, of Waynesville and Mary Ruth Messer of Canton; two brothers, Enlow Conner and his wife, Nina, of Canton and Mark David Conner of Clyde; many nieces and nephews and a host of special friends. Funeral services will be held at 11:30 a.m. on Saturday, November 8, 2014 in the Waynesville Chapel of Wells Funeral Home with Reverend Don Letzring officiating. Burial will follow at Rocky Branch Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
