Mavis I. Langdale, a devoted wife, loving mother, and cherished grandmother, passed away on July 3, 2024. She was born on August 27, 1950, to the late Ivan and Alama Barker Hagood. She is also preceded in death by her son, Timmy Langdale, and her sister, Rebecca Edwards. 

Mavis dedicated her career to Piper Aircraft as a sheet metal technician until her well-deserved retirement in 1984. Mavis was a member of the Church of Christ in Bartow, FL. Her faith was an integral part of her life and provided her with strength and solace throughout the years.

Mavis Langdale will be remembered for her unwavering love for her family, with a special fondness for her grandchildren. Her compassion extended even to her beloved pet, demonstrating her nurturing and caring nature. Mavis found joy in the simple pleasures of life, including shopping and the peaceful pastime of beach fishing.

She is survived by her devoted husband of 57 years, James William Langdale; loving sons James Langdale (Loretta), Michael Langdale (Cathy), and Jon Langdale; caring brothers Orville Hagood (JoAnn) and Virgil Hagood; as well as six grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.

Mavis will be dearly missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her. Her kind heart, warm smile, and loving spirit will forever remain in the hearts of those she leaves behind.

At this time there will be no formal services.

The care of Mrs. Langdale has been entrusted to Wells Funeral Home of Waynesville
