Canton, Maude W. Pace, 88, passed away Wednesday, November 20, 2019, after an extended illness.
Maude was a native and lifelong resident of Haywood County and a daughter to the late Garland and Geneva “Bo” Wells. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Earl Pace, Jr.; a daughter, Audra Horan; a brother, Shufford Wells; a sister, Clara W. Wilson; and two great-great grandchildren.
She is survived by two sons, Carl E. Pace and his wife, Terry Pace, of Canton, Robert “Alex” Pace, and his wife Melissa Pace, of Covington, Georgia; and a daughter, Susan P. Case and her husband, David Case, of Canton; a sister-in-law, Jo-Ann Wells; eight grandchildren, Tonia Sturgill, Jeff Pace, Dawn Evans, David Case, Jennifer Brooks, Jessica Wall, Shannon Brooking, and Justin Pace. Sixteen great-grandchildren and a number of great-great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Sunday, November 24, 2019 at the Canton Chapel of Wells Funeral Home with the Reverend Matt Rhea officiating. The family will receive friends from 1:45 to 2:45 prior to the service. Burial will follow at Crawford Ray Memorial Gardens in Clyde.
In lieu of flowers the family would like donations made in Mother’s name to St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105, her favorite charity.
