MATTIE LEDFORD TEAGUE

Canton-Mattie Ledford Teague, age 80, died Sunday, October 13, 2002 at Silver Bluff Village.

She was a native of Haywood County and was the daughter of the late William Crawford and Allie Rathbone Ledford. She was also preceded in death by a sister, Myrtle Sutton. She was a former employee of Champion International and retired from K-mart. She was a 1941 graduate of Canton High School, was a member of West Canton Baptist Church, and enjoyed crocheting.

She is survived by her husband of 56 years, Henry France Teague of Canton; two daughters, Brenda Pace and her husband, Ronnie, of Canton and Anita Frizzell and her husband, Kenny, of Sylva; two sons, Gary Teague and his wife, Brenda, and Russell Teague and his wife, Wanda, all of Canton; eight grandchildren; and ten great-grandchildren.

Services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, October 15, 2002, at the chapel of Wells Funeral Homes in Canton with the Reverends Jeff King, Matt Pruett, and James Huey officiating. Burial will be at White Oak Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 7:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. Monday, October 14, 2002 at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, memorial may be made to the New Building Fund of West Canton Baptist Church, 75 Lowe Street, Canton, NC 28716 or to the Hospice of Haywood County, Home Health Bldg., 560 Leroy George Drive, Clyde, NC 28721.
