Mary West

Maggie Valley, Mary Jo Conard West, age 77, passed away on Sunday, June 10, 2018 at Elizabeth House.

A native of Haywood County she was the daughter of the late Homer and Louise Penland Conard. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, John Edgar "Ed" West, Jr. who died in 2017; two sons, Billy and Rick Frizzell. She was the former owner of Rose Petal Florist in Maggie Valley and was a floral designer and baker at Ingles for 17 years. Mary enjoyed canning, gardening and painting.

Mary is survived by three daughters, Tamara Nolen (Bill), of Pisgah Forest, Shay Justice (Thomas), of Clyde and Tamie Hannah (Daniel), of Waynesville; two sons, Troy Frizzell (Davette), of Hendersonville and Stephen West, of Lexington, North Carolina; two brothers, David Boone (Barbara), of Waynesville and Bill Conard, of Minnesota; nine grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews; and her beloved companions, her dogs.

A private family memorial service will be held at a later date.
