Mary Snakenberg

November 4, 1916 — April 1, 2005

Mary Louise Luck Snakenberg, age 88, formerly of Canton, died Friday April 1, 2005 at her residence in Dunwoody, Georgia She was born in Norlina, North Carolina in 1916 to Mary Virginia Coakley Luck and Emmett Wesley Luck. She grew up in Raleigh and graduated from Peace Preparatory School. She married Robert L. Snakenberg, Sr. in 1937. After Robert's graduation from N. C. State, they moved to Canton, where Robert began working for Champion International Paper until his retirement. Louise was a tireless member of the Chancel Choir of Central United Methodist Church of Canton. She had been living with her daughter, Mary S. Bonds and her family in Dunwoody, Georgia for the past nine years. She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Mary S. and Cliff Bonds of Dunwoody, GA; four grandsons, David R. Twiddy of Kansas City, MO, Sean M. Twiddy of Dunwoody, GA, Aaron D. Twiddy of Roswell, GA and Robert L. Snakenberg, III of Columbia, SC and a sister, Marjorie L. Jones of Fredericksburg, VA. Graveside services will be at 3:00 p.m. Tuesday, April 5, 2005 at Crawford/Ray Memorial Gardens with the Reverend Doug Love officiating. Wells Funeral Homes & Cremations Services of Canton is in charge of arrangements. The family requests that in lieu of flowers, memorials be made to Central United Methodist Church of Canton Chancel Choir Fund, P. O. Box 792, Canton, NC 28716.
