Mary Roberson

Canton-Mary Swanger Roberson-94, formerly of Spring Street, died Thursday, October 3, 2002 in Redmond, Washington.

She was a native of Haywood County and was the daughter of the late William Alonzo and Florence Cogdill Swanger. She retired from Champion International with 37 years of service and was a member of Canton First Baptist Church. She was a member of the Canton Womens Club and a former member of the Oak Leaf Chapter #81 of the Order of the Eastern Star.

She is survived by one son and his wife, Joe H. and Billie Roberson of Redmond, WA, 3 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, October 9, 2002 at the Canton Chapel of Wells Funeral Homes with Reverend Dr. Rick Gosnell officiating. Entombment will follow at Garrett Hillcrest Memorial Garden Mausoleum. The family will receive friends from 12:45 p.m. until 1:45 p.m. Wednesday prior to the service at the funeral home.
