Mary Rhodarmer

Leicester – Mary Lee West Rhodarmer, 80, passed away on Monday, December 31, 2018 at Memorial Campus of Mission Hospitals.

A native and lifelong resident of Buncombe County, she was a daughter of the late Herman Lee and Polly Anna Mehaffey West.  In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Carroll Wiley Rhodarmer, who died in 2010 and a son, Chris Rhodarmer.  Mary was a member of Zion Hill Baptist Church.  She loved reading, poetry, sewing, working jigsaws and puzzle books.

She is survived by two daughters, Sherry Lunsford (Grady) of Black Mountain and Anita Rhodarmer of Leicester; two brothers, Frank “PaPaw” West and James West (Cozette) all of Leicester; one niece, Teresa Rhodarmer; and four nephews, Bryan Rhodarmer (Martha), Nathan West (Shelley), Greg West (Lisa) and David West, (Michelle).

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, January 5, 2019 in the Canton Chapel of Wells Funeral Home with the Reverend Bobby Smith officiating.  Burial will follow at Grace United Methodist Church Cemetery.  The family will receive friends from 12:30 until 1:45 p.m. prior to the service at the funeral home.
