Waynesville, Mary Sorrells Rhinehart, age 88, passed away on Saturday, November 2, 2019 at Memorial Mission Hospital.
A native of Haywood County, she was a daughter of the late Ellis and Mellie Byrd Sorrells. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Clyde Raymond Rhinehart, who died in 2011; five sisters, Laverne Edwards, Hazel Pilkington, Anne Guy, Betty Arrington and Mildred Gibbs; and two brothers, J.D. and Ronnie Sorrells. Mary retired from Dayco Corporation in 1990 with 40 years of service working in the Plastic Hose Department. Mary loved the Lord, her family and her church, Hyatt Creek Freewill Baptist Church, where she was the oldest member.
Mary is survived by two daughters, Juanita Trull (Terry), of Waynesville and Terri Putnam (Tony Ruff), of Waynesville; two sons, Michael Wayne Rhinehart (Christina P.), of Hazelwood and Ricky Dale Rhinehart (Cynthia), of Leicester; a sister, Marilyn Guy, of Waynesville; two brothers, Otis Sorrells (Brenda) and Bill Sorrells (Hazel), all of Waynesville; ten grandchildren; twenty-one great-grandchildren and 3 great-great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, November 5, 2019 in the Waynesville chapel of Wells Funeral Home with Reverend Kenneth Rhinehart and Reverend Steve Rhinehart officiating. Burial will follow at Green Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. on Monday at the funeral home.
