Mary Locklear

Canton – Mary Ellen Burrell Locklear, 60, passed away on Monday, December 5, 2022 at Haywood Regional Medical Center.

Mary Ellen was born in Buncombe County but had lived her entire life in Haywood County and was a daughter of the late Raymond and Ethel Taylor Burrell.  In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, George William Burrell.  Mary Ellen enjoyed her flowers, decorating, and cooking for her family whom she loved endlessly.

She is survived by a daughter, Christina “Christy” Blankenship (Ryan) of Canton; three sisters, Peggy Donaldson and Sharon Pace, both of Canton and Kathy Stokely  (Fred) of Clyde; one brother, Ellis Burrell of Canton; five grandchildren, Jakoby, Hailey, Ari, Waylon, and Sadie; nieces and nephews, David, Jamie, Freddie, Meggan, and John; and a special daughter in spirit, Andi Latham of Clyde..

A graveside service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, December 12, 2022 at Bon-A-Venture Cemetery on Old Clyde Road.  The family will receive friends from 12:30 until 1:30 p.m. prior to the service at Wells Funeral Home in Canton.
