Mary Stamey

Mary Lee Rogers Stamey, age 85, formerly of Dutch Cove Road died on Thursday, July 22, 2010, at Haywood Regional Medical Center. She was a native and lifelong resident of Haywood County and was preceded in death by a son, William Benny Stamey, who died in 1999 and a brother, Carroll Mann. Mary Lee was an in-home caregiver and attended Beulah Baptist Church. She is survived by two sons, Ricky Stamey of Clyde and Mickey Stamey of Canton; two daughters, Kathy Smathers of Canton and Judy Pohlman of Candler; a sister, Wilma Sue Packett of Clyde; a brother, James Pressley of Canton; 13 grandchildren; and 19 great-grandchildren. Graveside services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, July 23, 2010, at Long's Community Cemetery with the Reverend W. O. "Bill" Henson officiating. Grandsons will serve as pallbearers.
