Mary "Jody" Chantiri

Jody Chantiri, 80, passed away peacefully on Thursday, August 31, 2023, in Canton, NC with her two daughters by her side. 

Jody was born on March 28, 1943, in Jacksonville, Florida. She moved to Waynesville in 2008 and loved living in the mountains, being close to family and enjoyed her friends from "Waynesville Newcomers". Jody resided at Silver Bluff Village where she was cared for and loved by the staff at Pigeon Valley and Silver Bluff.  We can't thank them enough for the excellent care she received there.

She was the youngest in her family.  She was preceded in death by her parents, Candace DuBose and W.I. "Pop" DuBose, three brothers, Samuel DuBose, Rommie DuBose and Larry DuBose. 

Jody is dearly loved by her surviving family: Daughters, Cindy Smith, Robanne Morris, and son-in-law, Jack Morris along with her five grandchildren - Travis Smith, Colette Morris, Alec Morris, Kendall Azevedo and Caroline Ratner and three great-grandchildren, Aubrey, Easton and Payton Jo.

All our hearts were touched by Jody's loving smile, gentle soul and big heart.  She is already deeply missed!
