Martin Jones

Clyde, Martin Andrew Jones, age 73, passed away on Wednesday, July 30, 2014 at his residence. A native of Haywood County, he was the son of the late Howard Martin and Mackalean Kuykendall Jones and was also preceded in death by a brother, Donald Jones and half brother, Chester Kuykendall. Martin was employed at Lea Industries for 20 years and was a member of Panther Creek Baptist Church. He loved to trade on guns, dogs, and livestock and enjoyed hunting and fishing. Martin is survived by a brother, Bill Jones and his wife, Gayla, of Canton; his best friend and pastor, Ronald Greene; close friend, Tony Williams; several nieces and nephews; and several children that considered him "Papaw Jones." Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday, August 2, 2014 at Panther Creek Baptist Church with Reverend Ronald Greene officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 12:00 until 1:30 p.m. prior to services at the church.
