Martha Allen Goodin

Martha Allen Goodin, a beloved mother, wife, and dedicated caregiver, passed away on December 12, 2023. She was born on January 30, 1946, in Georgia to the late Jimmy and Virgie Toole Allen. Martha leaves behind a legacy of compassion and service that touched the lives of many.

Martha dedicated her career to the field of daycare as a Dietician, ensuring that children received proper nutrition and care. Her nurturing nature and loving demeanor made her an invaluable asset to the children under her care.

Martha's is preceded by her children, Kim Goodin and Timothy Mark Goodin.  Two brothers, Dean and John Allen, along with her sisters Virginia and Kathy.

In addition to her professional accomplishments, Martha was a devoted wife to James Goodin for 60 years. Their love was a shining example of commitment and loyalty. They faced life's joys and challenges together, creating a strong foundation for their family to thrive. She is also survived by a brother, Thomas Allen.

Martha loved spending time in her kitchen cooking the most wonderful meals imaginable.  She enjoyed spending quality time visiting with Seniors and being a member of Covenant Presbyterian Church.  Her most favorite time was the Christmas Season and enjoyed most sharing cookies and candies with all the many friends she had. 

A memorial service will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Sunday, December 17, 2023 at the Waynesville Chapel of Wells Funeral Home with Pastor Larry Jones officiating.  Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service.  

In lieu of flowers, memorial may be made to Haywood Pathways Center, 179 Hemlock Street, Waynesville, NC  28786.

The care of Mrs. Goodin has been entrusted to Wells Funeral Home of Waynesville.
