Mark Bryan Rogers of the Sunburst Community, North Carolina, went home to be with the Lord on April 21, 2025.
He was reunited in Heaven with his parents, Rev. Jay Rogers and Maude Rogers, a brother, Steve Rogers, who was retired from the United States Marine Corps; a sister, Gail Mahaffey; in-laws, Floyd and Wanda Rogers; a nephew, Cheyenne Keener; and a great-nephew, Caleb Rogers.
Mark’s loving wife of 36 years, Pam Rogers, his sister, Linda (Blaine) Parker, and a sister-in-law, Erlinda Rose Rogers, are left to cherish his memory. Mark also leaves behind many beloved family members, including numerous cherished nieces and nephews and wonderful friends.
Mark was of the Baptist faith, an avid outdoorsman, and a gun enthusiast. He was a member of the Western North Carolina Sportsman’s Club, Save the Lake Logan Committee, and the American Chestnut Tree Foundation, and he was a hunter safety instructor with the NC Wildlife Resources Commission. He had various special memories of his time spent at Pollock’s Ferry Hunting Club and the amazing friends he made there.
In lieu of flowers, the Rogers family kindly encourages memorial contributions to be made to the Pulmonary Fibrosis Foundation in Mark’s honor.
A graveside service for Mark will be held at 2 pm, Sunday, April 27, 2025, in the Burnette Siding Baptist Church Cemetery of Canton, North Carolina, with Mark’s nephew Cameron Kilby officiating. The Pallbearers will be Jeremy Inman, Chris Woods, Kevin Thomason, Manuel Rogers, Phil Russell, Butch Reece and Arley Messer.
Mark was a generous, kind, and compassionate person whose gentle heart will be remembered always. He will be deeply missed by all who were privileged to know him.
The care of Mr. Mark Rogers is entrusted to Wells Funeral Home of Canton, North Carolina.
