Mark A. Reeves

Mark A. Reeves, 69, beloved family man, passed away peacefully at his home on Sunday, November 26, 2023.

Born on September 11, 1954, Mark was the son of the late Donald and Shirley Moody Reeves and also preceded in death by a sister, Donna Reeves.  From an early age, he displayed a passion for the outdoors and spent countless hours fishing and exploring nature's wonders. Mark's curious mind led him to constantly tinker with various objects, always eager to understand how they worked or find ways to improve them.

Mark's career as a carpenter spanned several decades, during which he honed his craft and earned a reputation for his meticulous attention to detail. His skillful hands created beautiful structures that will stand as a testament to his talent and dedication.

But Mark's true legacy lies in the impact he had on the lives of those around him. He was a devoted husband to his loving wife of 44 years, Tammy Riffe Reeves. Their union was one built on unwavering support, laughter, and shared dreams.

The bond between Mark and his sons, Mark A. Reeves Jr., Richard Reeves (Tina), and Jason Riffe, was one of unbreakable love. They admired their father for his steadfast guidance and kindness, qualities that have shaped them into the men they are today.

As a grandfather to Mark A. Reeves III, Maddox A. Reeves, and Tristan Gould, Mark reveled in the joys of watching these young souls grow and learn about the world around them. He cherished every moment spent with them, passing down stories of his own childhood adventures.  He is also survived by his sister, Nanette Reeves.

To those who knew him well, Mark will be remembered not only for his professional achievements but also for his warm heart, infectious laughter, and genuine love for others. He possessed an innate ability to make everyone feel welcomed and valued, leaving a lasting impression on all who had the pleasure of crossing his path.

In his free time, Mark enjoyed sharing fishing trips with friends or simply finding solace in the beauty of nature. He found peace and tranquility in each cast of a line or every step taken while exploring the great outdoors. These cherished memories will forever be treasured by those fortunate enough to have shared these moments with him.

A Gathering of Family and Friends will be held on Sunday, December 3, 2023 from 1:00 p.m. until 3:00 p.m. with a time of sharing at 2:00 p.m. at Wells Funeral Home of Waynesville.
